Brian Hudson is a Vice President with Thayer Consulting. His areas of expertise include strategic planning, procurement, contract negotiations and project management. Mr. Hudson has over ten years of professional experience as a regulator and advisor to the telecommunications industry. Within the past five years, Mr. Hudson has managed over twenty communications and information technology consulting engagements in the state and local government arena, with particular emphasis on land mobile radio, CAD, RMS, mobile data and Automated Field Reporting systems.
Prior to joining Thayer Consulting, Mr. Hudson spent five years with Gartner in the State and Local Government Consulting Practice, advising public safety and general government officials on communications and information technology planning. Before working at Gartner, Mr. Hudson worked for Brite Voice Systems where he consulted Fortune 500 companies on telecommunication issues. Mr. Hudson’s experience also includes two years with the Antitrust Division of the United States Department of Justice where he analyzed pending telecommunications industry mergers.
Mr. Hudson holds an MBA from the University of Southern California’s Marshall School of Business. He also holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from Stanford University. Mr. Hudson is a member of APCO and is a frequent speaker at national and regional public safety conferences such as NENA, state police chief associations, COPS MORE and others on the topics of strategic planning, land mobile radio and mobile computing strategies. Mr. Hudson has published articles on state and local government technology planning in various communications technology journals.
